[ Hey everyone! Steve got his experiment and it succeeded and he isn't dead! So, as promised, here is the little get together for Steve and the friends that he managed to list before Yuri got tired of him slowly adding everyone he's ever met. It's really nothing special, but Yuri managed to obtain a barbeque, different drinks are set up on a table (oddly, all either bottled or canned-- water, coffee, juice boxes, and a 12-pack of Cola because she promised Steve she'd get Cola). Make sure you put whatever food you're bringing on the table too, it's a potluck!

Shortly before the date of the party, everyone should've gotten a private message that it was today, even if they didn't read Yuri's two posts mentioning it. ]

[he has a canned coffee in his hand, and as he turns to look at her he nearly drops it.

D...DAMMIT YURI DON'T SNEAK UP ON HIM WITH THOSE KINDS OF CLOTHES.

He clears this throat.]

I was just thinking about Gohda's cooking. That man really loved to make an entire feast.... you would have liked his food.

[ Hey he and Steve and that guy named Rory are the only males here, it's not like she has to worry about getting oggled by anyone who ought not be oggling.

She totally noticed the nearly-sacrificed coffee. ]

I actually like plain food better than that fancy banquet stuff.

[ Plain foods are what you eat with friends... ]

[he's opening the canned coffee now and taking a sip....he waves his hand dismissively at her.]

No no, he can cook anything- he would make plain food, definitely.

I'd have to dislike it just because you're insisting that I'd like it so much, obviously. [ She tilts her head, hands on her hips. Her ponytail falls to the side when she does that. ]

[he rolls his eyes at that- bringing the can up to his lips. He mumbles a bit though, DOESN'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO OVERHEAR.]

You look good in that you know. Your hair and everything... [takes a sip of coffee.]

[ Like it matters if anyone hears with the shade of pink Yuri's cheeks turn before she rolls her eyes, speaking quietly back. These two are probably more suspicious for trying to be discreet about anything. ]

I just changed into it because I wanted to go swimming. I think Steve's afraid of the fish.

[yeah really- but don't worry he brings his voice back up to a regular level.]

Not all of the fish, just the master fish!

....Tell me about this master fish. Do I want to know?

He's a giant fish the size of a whale. He's the reason we call this place < Monster Stream >.

I see.... and you plan to go swimming in the stream while that thing is in there? [not very safe yuri.]

[ WELP THIS IS.. AWKWARD.. after all, things are still pretty awkward between the two of them after their last conversation, even if they came here together and Ange has listened to the people commenting on her post.. but yes, still awkward, sob.

So she will just quietly try to sneak away from Battler a little after grabbing some food, don't mind her.. ]

Battler turns and spots Ange trying to sneak away... and he feels something in the pit of his stomach at that- the realization that your sister hates you for protecting you. He sighs a bit and then goes over to her.]

Look- let's just put stuff about our world behind us for today, this is all for Steve after all.

Ah, this is even more awkward, having to confront him now.. She swallows thickly before facing him, even if it takes a lot of effort to keep herself strong while doing so. ]

... I know. That's exactly why I wasn't saying anything, right? [ a little distant.. ]

[he closes his eyes for a moment, trying to get himself under control here- and then he opens them back up and looks down at her with a smile.]

I heard there's a monster in the stream- did you check that out yet?

[denies]

[ ... Yeah. Like this.. maybe it's easier. Pretending as if everything's normal, even if it makes part of her sick to the stomach still.. ]

What, do you actually believe a story about a monster here of all places?

[he nods.] Not exactly a monster.... I think it's more like a giant fish- maybe even a whale.

This isn't the sea or whatever, is it? And even so, whales usually don't swim this close to the shore. It doesn't even make sense, that's just like that stupid Loch Ness story.

[he waggles a finger at her!!] You're just not thinking Ange- this is the afterlife, anything can happen here.

If there's a giant fish then who are we to day it's not true?

[ It's strange. Like this, it's just like normal, even though it isn't, and-- some part of that thought makes dealing with all this even more difficult. ]

Because even if it's the afterlife, there's ought to be some things that at least make sense. Like a lack of giant fish monsters.

Exactly, there's nothing that can be weirder than our world. [ Besides, it was all fairly normal until she had to go back in time to save his ass?! ]

And if you believe there is one that badly, then why don't you catch it so we can have a barbecue?
