[ Hey everyone! Steve got his experiment and it succeeded and he isn't dead! So, as promised, here is the little get together for Steve and the friends that he managed to list before Yuri got tired of him slowly adding everyone he's ever met. It's really nothing special, but Yuri managed to obtain a barbeque, different drinks are set up on a table (oddly, all either bottled or canned-- water, coffee, juice boxes, and a 12-pack of Cola because she promised Steve she'd get Cola). Make sure you put whatever food you're bringing on the table too, it's a potluck!

Shortly before the date of the party, everyone should've gotten a private message that it was today, even if they didn't read Yuri's two posts mentioning it. ]

[ Battler. Battler and her were closer. He has this sudden urge to bring his fist to Battler's face but it's not really all that of a surprise he's there. Who else would she be kissing?

If could end up with anyone it'd be him. Could. Apparently she could. A simple 'But I like someone else.' would have worked instead of saying she couldn't. He's used to that one. Rejection hurt but he always got it. Nobody's ever outright lied about the reason before though. What was she even doing? She lied. And she's in that outfit. Against a tree. Hiding off to the side of a party. His party.

He inhaled a breath and clenched his jaw tight, frozen for a moment with an upset expression. Shock. Betrayal. ...Anger. He shook his head and turned around and headed back the way he came to get away from them quickly after a moment that felt far longer than it really was. ]

[Battler sighed, and he moved his hand away from Yuri. he snapped his fingers and his cape disappeared as well. It didn't go with what he had on right now anyways, but he also wanted to just get rid of it for the time being. Yeah-... he felt like he should have at least gotten punched for something like this. It was Steve's party, he should have just continued to act oblivious and not go down this route.

He glanced down at Yuri, and then he brought a hand up to his head, scratching it and trying to figure something out here.]

....He looked like he was about to hit me. I think we should let him cool off for now.

[tenminutes]

[ Steve stormed off. If she'd wanted to still be friends, this was something that their friendship might not be able to handle. She still hoped that it would, but somehow feeling that way made her feel even guiltier. Her throat tightened as she watched Steve storm off, but when Battler spoke, Yuri shook her head. ]

He may have wanted to hit you, but.. I don't think you're the one he's mad at. I told him the same thing that I told you a few hundred times.

[ It was okay to say it to Battler. Battler had been lucky that her words had been lies. Anyone else... they were nothing but careful slices into their backs while they weren't looking. ]

[chestboard]

[Battler placed his hands in his pockets, shifting his weight from one foot to another. So that was it? Battler took everything she said seriously but... he was just too stubborn, and maybe even a little hardheaded. He really pushed Yuri to get to this point.]

Mmm.... I see. [He looked down at her, tilting his head a bit.] ....Want a different outfit? [if she wanted to talk to Steve here he figured it would be awkward if she was in a bikini still.]

No.

[ If she got dressed after someone saw that, it would be acknowledging that the bikini made this that much worse than just kissing was. She felt bare right now, vulnerable, but somehow changing into more clothes despite her previous choice would make wearing that bikini more of a symbol of sexuality for her specifically. She didn't feel like wearing it anymore but if she changed, for no reason, the others would know that something happened too. She took a deep breath and sat down where she was on the tree roots, looking exhausted. ]

We shouldn't be doing this, Battler.

[chestboard]

[Yeah she was right in that aspect, he was just wondering if she wanted to change or not. Battler nodded and sat down next to her as well. He reached over to her, finding her hand and holding it in his.]

...For once I agree. [He brings his free hand up to his forehead and rubs it. He's looking down at the ground, thinking about this situation. They... probably really hurt Steve.]

But don't get me wrong, I don't regret anything.

[tenminutes]

[ Yuri falls quiet for a moment, but... a pout prevails. ]

I don't want to stop. [ This is her conflict. Between what she should be doing and what she wants. What will hurt Steve more, their lying.. even if they shouldn't, she didn't want to lose Battler like this now that she had him. Another few seconds passes before Yuri managed to get a cool head. Back to normal. Back to being responsible. She sighs, then speaks in an almost dismissive tone as she leans back against the tree. ]

Guess you're just going to have to deal without kisses. The cape obviously didn't hide very much, moron.

[chestboard]

[That's the Yuri he knows and loves, she's able to bounce back almost as quick as him. He smiles at that and he's still staring down at the ground.]

I think I'll live. It'll be hard but- I can manage. [But even so, he brought her hand up to his lips, kissing the top of it.]

[tenminutes]

[ Swallowing up sadness is something these two do like a boss pretty well. ]

It won't be that hard. You don't have to change anything, I'll just tell you to go do some extremely dangerous stunt like taking a long walk off of a short pier or something and it'll be back to the way it was before.

[chestboard]

Right right....

[But he looked over at her, his expression turning more serious.] ...Are you going to be okay? I mean, I'll have to talk to Steve later but I know he's more angry at you.

[tenminutes]

I'll talk to him. It'd be better to give him some time to cool down though.

[ Talking to people when they're pissed off like that doesn't work very well. ]

[chestboard]

[He nods and then he stands back up. He pats his jeans and then turns to look at her.]

So... I should go then. I don't think Ange will be happy when she hears about this either.

[tenminutes]

I don't think Steve's going to tell anyone.

[ She still trusts him, even when he's pissed at her. ]

[chestboard]

[he nods.... frowning a little bit.]

Yeah... you're right... I don't know when I'll talk to him though.

[tenminutes]

After I talk to him. I call dibs.

[chestboard]

Fine, you go first. Tell me after you talk to him then. I need to know he won't rip my head off next time we talk.

Who's he going to get a worldhop from to go rip your head off if you talk to him on video? I wouldn't let him rip your head off.

Hm.... true. No one's allowed in my world unless they have permission from the gamemaster himself.

If I hadn't cheated and gotten permission with that virus would you still have given it to me?

[chestboard]

[He rolls his eyes.] Of course. But I can take that away any time you know.

[tenminutes]

You'd better not, since I'm refusing to let people who want to kick your head in get worldhops from me. That's a special service.

Like I would, Yuri. I was just stating a fact though, I can revoke access to my world as easily as I can give it out.

I wonder if I'd made you promise forever during that virus, would it stand even after the virus was over? I'm not doubting you, I'm just wondering.

[ Yuri still feels guilty about what happened with Steve but.. closing up about that is the easiest way to deal with it. There's nothing she can do right now and she hates that feeling. Talking about something unrelated.. it helps. It doesn't make it hurt any less, it doesn't mean she's stopped worrying about Steve or feeling guilty. ]

[yeah he still feels bad too... but he's always been one to bounce back quickly.]

I would have been ticked if you forced me to do something like that you know. And no, it wouldn't keep up after the virus.

Why do you think I didn't do it? How do you know though? What if it did work?
