RL with Ange

[ As soon as Ange had been able to get a worldhop, Yuri had prepared for her. Her discussion with Battler... hadn't really started or ended well, so she was definitely more down than she should've been for Ange coming over, but she wasn't going to bring that up if she could avoid it. Somehow she had her doubts that Ange was just going to let it go, but..

She would still try to smile. That was what made someone human, right? The ability to keep smiling, even after tons of bad things had happened. Yuri wasn't going to let it get to her. Not if she could help it. Ange just got back from the dead and was, somehow, alive. She didn't need to deal with Yuri's problems on top of that.

Of course, the waiting game was another thing that involved gratuitous interest in her laptop. Tetris was, after all, the most fun one could have without internet access (beside the community, of course) while looking like they were actually working on something intense. ]

She stands up from her seat and takes a few steps, as if she's going to lead and try to find the place to get some food here even though Yuri would obviously know it better.. ]

It's sort of strange to be in a school though, since I only just got out of mine finally a little while ago.

[ Actually she was just gonna be lame and steal sandwiches and juice boxes if she wasn't okay with that. ]

Try living at one. It's pretty strange itself.

[ Yuri stretches her arms above her head and follows Ange out, not particularly concerned if Ange doesn't have any idea where she's going. ]

[ Ange is pretty content to just wander through the school a little either way, it's a good excuse to see some more of Yuri's world without actually literally just snooping around. Besides, just casually walking around with Yuri and talking to her is.. fun, right? It's almost as if she's normal that way, with actual friends at a school.. ]

I used to live at one. Boarding school and all that. So it isn't that strange to me.

That's exactly what this is then. Boarding school in the afterlife. Everything we need is in this place, it's a perfect paradise.

[ It obviously doesn't sound like Yuri exactly agrees with that, or she can't accept it even if it is. She moves on from it. ]

What was your school like?

[ It's okay, Yuri, Ange is a fan of rebelling too, she'll clearly help you.. ]

Let's just say I'm glad I got out of there already. If you don't like this place, you could at least be glad it isn't anything like my school. That place wasn't more than a cage to protect rich girls from society, but instead it was to protect society from those rich girls' attitudes. [ There's something very distantly sad in the way she says it, as if she's recalling something painful. ]

My family wasn't as rich as yours but it's not like we weren't wealthy.

[ They were wealthy enough that they're normal home was practically a summer home and they got to have a ton of space. That's definitely saying something. ]

So I know what you're talking about in terms of other peoples' attitudes. [ Except Yuri is a lot more violent so no one particularly went out of their way to mess with her. ]

[ Clearly Yuri onee-chan should have been around at Ange's school to protect her from bullies.. ]

Well, then you understand, right? And they all had some sort of fondness for picking on me, so when they established me as the target from the very start, my days there were just filled with bothersome moments one after another. [ she's still making it seem like it's less worse to her than it actually was, though. ]

You ended up strong because of it though, right? [ She knows that Ange isn't a pushover. Not anymore at least. Otherwise she wouldn't have been with her brother. ] I never had to deal with that. I just got into fights sometimes.

Yeah, I guess it did that for me. [ but aside from 'strong' also 'super jaded' did you see the moeblob that was babby Ange.. ]

And fights aren't too bad, right? At least that means there's enough force coming from both sides.

Let's just say that I wasn't only a troublemaker here. [ Haha.. ] You never gave up right?

Don't go ahead and get yourself into fights without a good reason, Yuri. [ Geez. But she can't help but smile at the other girl, since it's just so typical for her to always keep fighting like that, whereas she herself is much more prone to giving up. ]

And.. no, I guess you could say I gave up back then. [ at least this part is honest. ] I tried to completely shut out any feeling when they beat me, or stole and broke my things, or when they told me I should just die, but.. [ a humorless laugh. ] To be honest, I really wished their wishes could come true back then. That I could just die like that. Back in that school, I wished that more than anything.

It's not like I picked them or anything!

[ Yuri eyes her for a moment, then reaches over and pulls lightly at one of her pigtails. Not enough to hurt, just enough to tug. ]

You're not doing that anymore right?

[ It causes her to glance over to Yuri - first a bit surprised, but.. then slowly a small smile cracks onto her face. ]

... No, I don't do that anymore. [ She barely surpresses the urge to say 'onee-chan' since she knows Yuri won't appreciate the joke half as much as she does.. ]

It's strange, but when I sacrificed myself for Battler onii-chan I was actually.. more scared. Even though I've always wanted to die before, I suddenly had things I didn't want to lose.. like this. [ Their friendship, for example. Her chance at happiness in general. ]

It's easier to accept being alone when you've never had anything to compare it too. When you've got people that you like and who like you back, it gets really hard to let go.

That's right. I didn't even really know what it was like to be happy before I joined Battler onii-chan in the game and discovered the community and all, but.. if I have to be honest, the time I spent here was the most fun I've ever had since my family died all those years ago.

[ she's just being so dere dere over here for once.. ]

[ She's been dere dere since she got back from the dead. ]

Well, it'll keep being that way. Even if you lose access to it, it seems like it comes back for a lot of people or you'll lose your memory of it, so no matter what I need you to promise that you'll remember that happy feeling okay? If you don't remember anything else, remember that feeling and you'd damn well better hold onto it. You're not allowed to quit again or I'll find a way to get to your world and time and give you a few good punches.

[ NOT AROUND EVERYONE.. just around her big bro ~~and sis~~ and friends, okay.. ]

Ah, I wouldn't want to get your wrath upon me, so I guess I better do as you say in that case.

You're walking around just like the rest of us, right? You can be touched, you can't walk through walls, practically you're the same as all of us.

... I mean, if the fact that you died is going to make you a ghost, I could join the club.

Presently dead though. You're alive. I could fall off of a building in another world and still get back up in about fifteen minutes. Trust me, already have experience with that one.

[ Off the chapel in Umineko land even. Buttler got all mad. ]

I fell off a building and got back up too. [ SEE, YOUR POINT IS INVALID, and that was even a freaking huge skyscraper. :| she's saying this somewhat deadpan casually though.. ]

Did you actually get hurt though? Or did you have to spend a while in a hospital? [ She doubts the first one. A lot. ]

[ still, don't go around getting yourself hurt, people will worry!! ]

Not at all. At most the impact hurt just a little, but then I just got up and walked it off again. ... The second time was pretty much the same, even if that was from a shorter height.
