[ Aaand Yuri's going to head on over there now. After about 5 minutes, he can probably hear a rapping on his door. ]

Bertholdt, it's me!

[It takes Bertholdt a moment to come to the door, unlatching it and coming outside. He comes out, adjusting his sweater a little bit nervously.]

Uhm-- hey...

I don't care if you're a 200 pound sumo wrestler or you've got a beanstalk, so let's get that clear before we talk. Come on.

[ Yuri's already walking. They can go walk down to the stream or something, it's usually isolated there unless she calls fishing trip. ]

[He just follows. Being outside is nice-- it's peaceful and it's getting chilly so it feels nice. His body can't overheat like it did in the summer.]

I've heard it mentioned before, but I don't really know much about titans at all. From the sounds of things, they're the guys you lot were fighting. You don't seem like a bad person to me and I've got pretty good instincts. So I want you to tell me a little bit about titans. I try not to pry but I need to make sense of this, especially if it's going to come down to people wanting me to pick a side.

[ There's a brief pause, in which her tone changes a little. ]

Of course, I'd rather make it clear that there's just my side and if you're on it, then if they're going to start anything they can deal with a semi-automatic to the face.

[He's already half truthing, but only because his mun doesn't fucking know what the plot's doing okay.]

[ Yuri stays quiet for a few seconds after he speaks. At the very least, she can tell he regrets it. And while she knows the pain of becoming a victim, becoming one of the people who've been forced to watch other people they care about die in front of her helplessly... she knows that not everyone does things because they want to. The men who murdered her family never showed regret-- not real regret. But she believes Bertholdt.

Even if she thought he was an actor, there was one real reason that proved that he really did regret it to her: He was here. So Yuri raised her voice up again in curiosity, not taking the time to say anything about whether it was wrong or right because here it didn't matter. Even if others blamed him, she couldn't. ]

[ She'll address his other words in a moment, but keeping it light between collecting her thoughts and more information is probably for the best. ]

[That... wasn't the response he'd really... been expecting. He blinks a little, before staring at her a moment.]

[And then he shakes if off, looking a little confused.]

[ Yuri's definitely a lot calmer about this, a lot more receptive than most people would be. More than likely it's because it wouldn't be the first time that she's met someone who came here or confessed to being a murderer. ]

[He's... really floored by all of this. He's terrified of talking about it, talking about it means death, but he guesses if he's already dead-- there's no use.]

I don't... care if I get hurt, physically. Even-- before coming here, my body could heal itself. But...

You still feel pain right? Even if I can be pretty rough, even I don't want to go through pain and I'm long since used to healing from it. I can't imagine it being something you want to do either.

...They might hate you for a while. I'm not going to lie and try to make you feel better about that. Anyone would hate someone who caused their lives to change so badly, but if you explain that you're sorry and that you understand that there's a lot of pain, then that opens the door.

[ Yuri crosses her arms, averting her gaze for the moment. ] And in the meantime.. they're not your only friends, stupid.

It's... painful, sure... but I'm used to it by now.

[Being taught to cut yourself again and again as a child to make sure you didn't flinch too badly to keep from transforming? It really does things to you.]

Being used to something and wanting it are totally different. Anyway, I don't want you to get hurt by other people, so you're going to have to deal with it and just let me help protect you while you do the right think, Bertholdt.

...And of course we're friends! Are you some kind of idiot? [ Hmph!! ]

I... I believe you, Yuri...

[He's relieved, but boy is he going to be nervous until he gets up the will to actually talk to them....]

I- I-I didn't want to just assume something like that though...!
