[ It takes Yuri a little longer to respond than the first few messages, just because she doesn't really know the situation other than that Bertl's a little awkward for a big guy and that he's probably the one who did something horrible. ]

Be as honest as possible, but show remorse. You obviously have it or you wouldn't be worrying. If you think they might attack you for whatever it is, get a mediator you trust. Don't look for them to accept your apology or be okay with it, just say you wanted to tell them because they deserve to know. Chances are they won't accept or forgive you if it's really horrible, but if you're only telling so they'll forgive you then it's about you, not them.

If you say no, I won't ask again, but if you want to tell me I can probably try to give you better advice that way. That's the best I can do without knowing. I hope it's enough.

[He stares at her message a long time, and will be keeping it in his inbox to read and reread until the time comes. He needs the encouragement more than anything. It's exactly what Zoe told him, but coming from someone not from their world made it a little more meaningful.]

[ Yuri reads that message and he's right, those statements don't really make a lot of sense to her, but she's heard enough about titans to know that they're the enemy. She thought they were.. different though. Not human. She didn't really know about that part of it, so she immediately fires back to ask. ]

Can we talk in person now? I'm not mad, but I have some questions. It's just better if we talk instead of worrying about someone grabbing one of our phones.

[He hesitates again, before sending the message;]

[ Aaand Yuri's going to head on over there now. After about 5 minutes, he can probably hear a rapping on his door. ]

Bertholdt, it's me!

[It takes Bertholdt a moment to come to the door, unlatching it and coming outside. He comes out, adjusting his sweater a little bit nervously.]

Uhm-- hey...

I don't care if you're a 200 pound sumo wrestler or you've got a beanstalk, so let's get that clear before we talk. Come on.

[ Yuri's already walking. They can go walk down to the stream or something, it's usually isolated there unless she calls fishing trip. ]

[He just follows. Being outside is nice-- it's peaceful and it's getting chilly so it feels nice. His body can't overheat like it did in the summer.]

[The concept seems really strange to him. Did she mean, wide guys? Like... Reiner, was the first to come to mind. He was like a brick wall.]

[ At least he seemed to be relaxing a little bit more. Still, they had to talk about what the situation was. ]

I've heard it mentioned before, but I don't really know much about titans at all. From the sounds of things, they're the guys you lot were fighting. You don't seem like a bad person to me and I've got pretty good instincts. So I want you to tell me a little bit about titans. I try not to pry but I need to make sense of this, especially if it's going to come down to people wanting me to pick a side.

[ There's a brief pause, in which her tone changes a little. ]

Of course, I'd rather make it clear that there's just my side and if you're on it, then if they're going to start anything they can deal with a semi-automatic to the face.

Yeah... the Titans, well... They eat humans. I can't... really tell you why, they just do.

[He's already half truthing, but only because his mun doesn't fucking know what the plot's doing okay.]

[His voice gets small.]

[ Yuri stays quiet for a few seconds after he speaks. At the very least, she can tell he regrets it. And while she knows the pain of becoming a victim, becoming one of the people who've been forced to watch other people they care about die in front of her helplessly... she knows that not everyone does things because they want to. The men who murdered her family never showed regret-- not real regret. But she believes Bertholdt.

Even if she thought he was an actor, there was one real reason that proved that he really did regret it to her: He was here. So Yuri raised her voice up again in curiosity, not taking the time to say anything about whether it was wrong or right because here it didn't matter. Even if others blamed him, she couldn't. ]

Big enough? Just how tall are you when you're all...

[ She'll address his other words in a moment, but keeping it light between collecting her thoughts and more information is probably for the best. ]

[That... wasn't the response he'd really... been expecting. He blinks a little, before staring at her a moment.]

[And then he shakes if off, looking a little confused.]
